More Than 5,000 Killers Get Away With Murder Every Year.

But You Can Change That.

Do you have information about David Hawkins’ death?

1,661 Miles Project Distance to Destiny was birthed to shed light on the homicide of David Hawkins and bring a killer to justice. The primary goal is to encourage those with information about his death to come forward and help the Aurora Police Department solve a cold case that has been open for almost 30 years. We thank you in advance for helping us bring a killer to justice and have closure for David Hawkins’ family.

A Homicide Victim's Family Ignites A Movement: Fighting Through Tears
David's sister tells his story. "Anything I do is dipped in my mother's tears and my brother's blood. He was her baby before he was anyone's statistic. A bullet reduced his life to a number, and this is why we fight for him."

A $30,000 Reward

The victim’s sister, Cynbad4Real has launched a social media campaign to raise $30,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) or parties responsible.  A portion of all proceeds from merchandise and prints sold by the art gallery Art that Speaks Life Galleries, featuring the work of the victim’s mother among other artists, will be used to meet the fundraising goal. In addition, 25% of all donations from the walk and sponsorships will also be used to make sure we raise funds, because there was never a reward publicized for his case. David wrote from his hospital bed “Who Shot Me” “Why Shot Me” before slipping into a coma he never woke up from. It is only just that those questions be answered for his family.
